Let's talk Hollywood. We already have a wrestling thread... So let's just start off easy and see where it goes.

I bought the dvd last week of You, Me and Dupree. I think Owen Wilson is one of those rare undiscovered talents. I think he is great with amazing comedic timing. I loved almost everything and everyone in it. Kate Hudson is lovely as ever. Michael Douglas was in rare form. The one thing that ruined it for me was Matt Dillon. His timing couldn't be more off in this one. I don't know what he was trying to do, but this type of comedy is not his thing.

Hey rtf! Good idea for thread you have there! :)

To start off with you, I haven't seen You, Me and Dupree yet, but I have definitely seen movies of Owen Wilson and like you, I really think that he is one of those rare undiscovered talents as you said. I have seen the Wedding Crashers, the movie with Jackie Chan Around The World in 80 Days if I'm not wrong and Zoolander among others, and really, I'm sure he can be part of better movies.

I first took notice of Owen Wilson in The Hauting. His talents were clear there too, even though the movie wasn't a comedy. But after I-Spy, I just became one of those guys I just ended up watching most of his movies. (Still has the best line in that one. "In the spy world size matters, but only in reverse!" :p ).

I loved Wedding Crashers. It not only has Owen Wilson, but another of my favorite actors in it. Rachel McAdams! :)

Isn't I-Spy the movie he did with Gene Hackman where he played a pilot lost in enemy'ts territory?

I started to notice Rachel McAdams after Wedding Crashers. After that, I saw a second movie of hers which is the movie with Sarah Jessica Parker. I can't remember the name. There was also Craig T. Nelson. :)

For Rachel McAdams, yes I'm sure about it. After a quick search, she has starred in a movie called The Family Stone (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808665818/info) alongside SJP and CTN. There's also Claire Danes, Luke Wilson and Diane featuring in the movie as well. Talking about the movie, I don't recommend it to you unless you like movies for the girls! :p

Also, for Owen Wilson, I meant about the movie Behind Enemy Lines (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1807592174/info). I got it wrong with I-Spy. I don't know if you have seen it yet, but if not, I recommend it to you. It's a pretty good movie in my opinion. :)

I have heard of Behind Enemy Lines, but haven't seen it yet. So I can't comment on it.

The Family Stone was a fair good love-thing movie if you're a girl. Otherwise, pass on it unless you're a die hard fan of Rachel McAdams or one of the other casts.

Behind Enemy Lines is a pretty good breathtaking movie and Owen Wilson was pretty good in a serious role if you consider the fact that he usually does comedy. :)

Luke Wilson is his older brother? I didn't knew that. He played in The Family Stone I mentioned earlier. I guess that Owen will be better than Luke. He seems to enjoy and love acting more than Luke, in my opinion.

What about Bloodrayne II. I still haven't seen the first one, but I know I will at some point... But this sequel... How can you have Bloodrayne II without having Kristanna Loken in it!

I like Kristanna Loken. :o :)

Me neither. I haven't seen it come out in theatres here. I guess it must have come out on DVD. Gotta check it out. As for the sequel, I'm not sure I'm going to see it. They have changed the cast totally. :(

rtf is such a bitch these days ...

Has anyone here seen this movie?

What a classic ... so much cursing ... and the famous "Me love you long time." with the "Boots are made for walking" song.

Discuss it here if you've seen it.

I don't want to see this again. But it's on DVD now. Just keep the volume down. There is more cursing in this movie than all movies combined.

What a movie. If you haven't seen it .. these two clips will show you exactly what it is like. First up ... one of the many swear filled scenes. Who wrote this? lol

I am warning you ... you've never heard cursing like this before.

The most famous scene from the movie ...

Me So Horny

lol What a movie.

rtf is such a bitch these days ... No, I am trying my best to keep these boards clean and keep them inviting for everyone to start posting here. This is not just Terri's or Bobbi's private board anymore. This is part of www.modelsgonebad.com. I am doing my job as moderator. So although I will promote people to have fun here, I will keep things a bit more professional here.

At the very least try to keep Terri's and Bobbi's wishes in mind, as well of the other models posting here.

On topic ... has anyone seen Premonition yet? I thought it would be good. But every review say it was her worst movie and had the worst ending of any movie ever made. Now I cringe when I think of going to see it. I guess I'll rent it when it hits DVD.

Spider-Man 3 and Transformers are the two movies I am most excited about.

Haven't seen Premonition (since it isn't out here yet). Reviewers always complain about Sandra Bullock, because they don't like it when she takes on parts that is outside of the box of her Speed character. And everytime movie-goers love her. So I wouldn't worry about that. I'm more concerned about Julian McMahon. A good solid actor. But he does tend to over-act at times. Then again, he hasn't done too many movies yet, and profiler is a long time ago.

I agree with you. Critics seems to be too critical towards Sandra Bullock. After the Speed movie, all movies she has done has been criticized but though so, it has success. The only thing that I would say is that, after seeing the trailer (haven't seen the movie yet), it seems to be quite a bit like Final Destination even if you don't have a group of youngsters.

well i've never seen or heard of a critic who's negative towards all movies; but it's fair to say many love to bash. in turn...many people like to hear it. they find it entertaining. hence why many popular shows that comments on pop-culture typically have something bad to say over something good.

it's part of a human's psychology to rather hear something negative about someone or something, then something positive. strange, but generally true.

it's part of a human's psychology to rather hear something negative about someone or something, then something positive. strange, but generally true. I don't agree with that. It is what people like to think the public wants, but it has never been so. It might be true for those who don't care about movies, Hollywood and those types of entertainment, but these people are not the target audience the critics should be writing for.

For fans of movies, actors and Hollywood, which IS the target audience, they are not waiting for their favorites to be torn down. They are waiting to hear if something is worth their time. If they need to make a choice between two or three movies to see, which is the best way to spend their money.

The job of the critics is not about being positive or negative. Their job is to give a clear review, point out the good points and the bad points and give an opinion. But being negative on top of it, they thing it gives them an edge. They might even think they are smart.

Ultimately, they still know nothing of what the public wants. Titanic was rated as being on of the worst movies in early reviews, and became one of the biggest movies ever. Movies like Troy and Alexander were reviewed as some of the greatest movies today, and they died slow deaths at the boxoffice. (relatively speaking)

The job of the critics is not about being positive or negative. Their job is to give a clear review

i agree with that, but clearly the case isn't always so. it just depends GREATLY on who is making the review and where it's coming from. there is no real consistency, and it's all subjective anyways. there's no absolute way to fairly critique a movie; but perhaps that's just where we differ.

regardless, in my own personal experience, and with people i know, critical reviews don't seem to be taken too seriously anyways. i mean, no one i know, nor myself has ever declined seeing a movie because of a bad review.

if i want to see a movie, i'll see it. a random person's opinion, whom i've never met, isn't going to sway my decision.
