any suggestions on what to put on my belly??was thinking in changing it in something japanese flowers??? Personally, I trust your judgement. It is your skin after all. I'm sure it will be something we will love from that point on. As long as you don't turn into a walking painting, like some people, I'm cool with anything you do... :)

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but since the thread is about tattoo... I'll just head up and see.
The question I have in mind is, how much does it hurts? Is it like using a sharped pencil drawing something on the skin? Yes, this would be my first time for a tattoo so before doing it, I'm looking for some informations. :)
And oh, Terri lady, you're a lovely women and your tattoos look great. ;)

hhmmm...it depends on your pain limit and where you do it? it kind of feels like when little kids take your skin with their nails and pinch it if that makes sense? kind of anoying more then painfull.. but when you get a big one the anoying feeling starts to hurt, and i heard of grown men passing out.. for me it wasnt very painfull

Oh ok. I guess it should be alright then. I'm looking forward into doing one or two on the arms mostly. I don't see myself getting a tattoo elsewhere. :) Anyway, thank you very much for your answer Terri! You're a lovely lady! ;)
I don't have any tattoo's, but I know they say it hurts more the closer the needle gets to the bone, like on your ankle or elbow. Also before going ahead and going for the tattoo,... be sure to be informed at what you are doing. There is no threat on an arm or a leg or something, but there have been cases of people getting heart problems because they had a tattoo on their chest and turned out to be allergic to the paints used in the tattoo. The chance of that happening is very slight, but it does exist. I believe that this is why the better tattoo parlors only do bigger tattoo's after you've had a little on first or something...
Again, I'm not the expert in this...

Hmm... that's serious... and I guess I'm concerned since I have some heart problems. I think I will have to ask around first then.

From what I understand, the chances of this happening is real slight. In this case this guy turned to be allergic to the paint of the tattoo which was placed over his chest. Had it been a small tattoo and/or place on an arm or something, I believe nothing would have been wrong. But just in case, getting informed about this is always the best option to go with, regardless...

No, don't worry, I'm not getting scared off. It's just a matter of security and health. I just want to know the issues before going out and have one done. But until Terri and you answer me, all I had was some answers from wise people who doesn't even have one here and there. Plus, I haven't fixed myself on a design I wish to get tattoed with.

Well, I don't have a tattoo either. I just remember this one story. Of course I believe they use different kinds of paints these days. This incident happend at least several years ago...

Of course, there are a lot of certified Tattoo parlors around the world. Amsterdam has had the highest rated parlors for years, for instance. I don't try to put anyone off getting one, just trying to caution them and do the research first. Not every town is as thorough with this as Amsterdam.

Thank you for the link rtf! :)
Makes me wonder if Paris has good parlors to get one. I have seen some places downtown but damn, not even with a million, I'd put my butt down the chair.

Well, since you know her more than me, I can only believe you. And I do actually. :)
Let's just say that as beautiful she is on the outside, it pales to the beauty she holds in side. :)

funny you mention that...i actually have a crooked heart, (Left Axis Deviation), and i have the EKG of it tattooed directly over my heart! :p
check it out:

anyways, yeah, don't sweat the pain too much. i have tattoos on both of my inner wrists, inner bottom lip, and the one on my chest of course. none of them were intolerable by any means. the ones on my wrists, (when the needle passed over my tendons), hurt the most; but it really wasn't that bad.

That's relieving to know. Now that I have an idea of how much pain I have to endure to have one, I'll just have to check out about the diseases issues and then if it's alright, find a decent place to get one.

I donīt think a site called "biblebelievers" is the best place to look for facts about tattoos. Jesusfreaks have a tendency to twist facts around or just use the facts that serve their purposes. I can only speak for myself when it comes to how much it hurts to get a tattoo but i donīt think it hurts much at all. I have only got one on my arm so i canīt really say anything about how it feels on other body parts.

But they are not the first or only ones bringing attention to this. I mostly posted that link so you can figure out what questions to ask when doing your research into this.

Hi Terri,
How are you doing? :) I don't know what kind of tattoo and where you want to have it done but it seems that you have decided having three lotus flowers done and since you want to have them attached by something, let me suggest you having them attached by a ribbon. If you're getting yourself a colored tattoo, I would recommend you a red or a pink ribbon but it would depend on the colors of the lotus so all I can say is that it's up to you to decide on them whether you're looking to have colors or not. ;)
P.S. I hope you don't mind, but as a way to thank you for asking around about the tattoo for me and to show my support, I have added you on MySpace.
