I was checking my Myspace account just before, when I went on the groups tab and noticed there was a new post in the (now pretty much dead) Charlie Laine fan club. I checked it out of curiosity, and noticed this thread:

Some guy is getting a tattoo of her on his arm. While I don't really feel that arsed to check the pictures on his profile, it sounds a bit creepy to me. I mean, if you're going to get a picture of someone drawn on your body, shouldn't you at least KNOW the person? If someone came up to me and said they had a Chris Kelly tattoo, I'd be at least a little disturbed (though a bit flattered, but mostly disturbed).

While the idea does sound cool at least, to me it's a bit creepy. What do you guys think?

In their own right, people in the adult industry are celebrities in a way. Just like the mainstream celebs, the will have people doing stuff like that. The big question is, will they still like having the pictures on their bodies like 10 or 15 years in the future?

To me, different tattoos mean different things. While something like a tribal design just looks cool, to draw someone on your skin is personal.

I understand that people in the adult industry are celebrities to some people, but that is the same way anyone in any industry can be a celebrity. For example, Shigeru Miyamoto is a celebrity in the games industry, hell some of my university lecturers could be counted as celebrities (some of their work has a quite devoted following). But I'd find it damned weird for anyone to draw a picture of them on their skin, whether they adore their work or not.

My problem with this guy doing this is that it seems to be too personal. It's not that Charlie isn't worthy of being on someone's skin, I just find it weird to pick someone that isn't really that famous (mainstream-wise). I mean, think about explaining it to a girl:

Girl: Nice tattoo, who's she?
Guy: Thanks, she's my favourite pornstar!
Girl: ...pornstar?
Guy: Yeah, I always think of her.
Girl: So I see....
Guy: She's hella hot...hey, where'd you go?

I honestly can't see any girl being cool with a guy having a picture of another girl on his skin, and if the guy has a girlfriend she must be hella offended for him to put another girl on him but not her!

I don't have much with tatoo's. Should I ever decide to get one, I might use it to cover up some of my scars or something.

But as for the famous bit. Sometimes it is not such a bright idea to put a celeb on your skin. This guy in Canada has a tatoo of WWE Wrestler Chris Benoit on his back shoulder. I rather doubt he would have put his portrait on his skin if he knew that Benoit would one day kill his wife, then kill his son and then hang himself.

I think the person is deeply disturbed to saythe least. I spent 20 years in the US Navy and i never got a tattoo for 3 reasons 1 I have a rare blood type and you can't give for 10 years if you have a tattoo 2 I hate neddles i\I almost faint when i get a shot. And lastly i'm stuborn someone told me i wasn't a real man/sailor if I didn't get one, also it seems to be trendy getting something that will look terible or embarassing in 50 years. While I am one of the coolest folks in my town I refuse to follow trends. As for anyone that wants a tattoo make it small and meaningful (Penthouse Key) not loud and garish

One thing is for certain. If you do get a Tattoo, you should get it for yourself, not for others.

Welcome back Dean. It's been a while since I've seen you post around here. :)

On my side, I really don't find it creepy or anything. It's just an individual that wants to show his dedication and love to a celebrity... a "recognizable" individual as to oppose to Blank's comparison with the game developer. And to that, Charlie may not be recognizable by "all" but she sure is recognizable to anyone like us. Tattoo might be trend where some idiot folks follows but there are others that do it in a meaningful manner. I could put up an example here like the tattoo of Eminem's daughter on his arm. Same thing as a tattoo of "your" relative somewhere on your body. Another thing is arms are the best place to get tats especially for men since most of us workout a least bit and have muscles.

That kind of thing I agree with, because it means something. I know a guy that has a picture of his son on his arm, that means something. It's just in my opinion if you're going to draw a person on your arm it should really mean something, more than 'she's hot' or whatever.

BTW, that game developer guy is actually quite famous, he's the guy that invented Mario. So many people think of him as God it's unreal.

Some large ones look really good, though it depends on the person's taste and what they look like. I know quite a few people with tribal on their arms which looks good, and some people with a really shit design as well which looks naff as fuck.
